Now, we know Holland is a small country, but visiting all of Holland in one day sounds far too ambitious, right? Well, we do have a little travel hack to make sure you can see Holland in one day. The key is Madurodam in The Hague. Madurodam is a miniature park, which includes all the famous characteristics of Holland, but tiny! (pssst, take a look at our Holland Highlights tour if you want to visit Madurodam!)

History of Madurodam

Madurodam was founded in 1952 by the Maduro couple in honor of their son George, who lost his life in the Second World War as a member of the resistance. The park is a memorial to him; 🎖a medal placed near the entrance will remember the guests of his legacy.

Day Trip Ideas: Madurodam/The Hague

Madurodam is mostly an outdoor park, full of fun things to look at! But Madurodam also includes some indoor interactive storytelling points, where you can learn more about Dutch history. Or you can even become part of it!

The miniature park is located in The Hague, where we have already written a blog post about. Read this article to learn about the city, but also to get ideas on how to fill your day trip to The Hague.

Madurodam is visited by many people, including the Dutch themselves. It is a fun and easy activity to fit into the rest of your trip, great for young and old. So don’t miss out on its colorful and exquisite sights. And the experience of being a giant for one day, of course!

If you would like to visit Holland in one day, Madurodam is a great option. But if you have other wishes and you travel in a group, do let us know! Contact us to let us know your requirements and we will provide you with a custom made tour!
